Though he was proficient at sailing the seas capturing ships and stealing riches, Jean Lafitte knew that he and his Band of Buccaneers needed a special place to relax and the time to enjoy family and friends. The secret lair should offer a haven away from work and worry. Lafitte looked to the safety and beauty of the wetlands to build his hideaway.
